Innokin's new Kroma 217 Z Force kit features a Kroma 217 box and a Z Force tank. 

The Chinese manufacturer of electronic cigarettes, Innokin, always at the forefront of innovation in the vape industry, expands its Kroma range with this new Kroma 217 Z Force kit. 

Innokin, one of the international leaders for MTL beginners vape, has decided to tackle the DL vape market for big, tasty clouds and thus expand its target to a more expert crowd.

Let's talk about this kit

While there are some similarities with the Kroma R's design, the Kroma 217 looks more elegant with high quality materials. 

Made of steel and a zinc alloy with a brushed finish that can, depending on the model, be complemented by leather, fibreglass, or carbon fibre around the handle. 

Its ergonomic curves make the box easy to grip and practical with its thumb rest at the top.  The Kroma 217 Z Force is designed to become a unique and prestigious accessory.

This new model is more powerful due to the possibility of using a 21700 battery (hence the name), which provides a power of 100W. With an adapter, the use of an 18650 battery is possible. For safety reasons, however, the power is limited to 80W. Charging is done with the USB-C adapter supplied and provides a generous battery life.

The box is equipped with the latest chipset. In addition to the usual VW and VV modes, it provides 2 new modes. The Coil+ mode which extends the life of the coil by automatically sending an electrical impulse through it at the end of each puff and the Refresh mode which prevents the accumulation of residues by allowing to manually send an electrical impulse at 40% of the selected power to boost the flavours.

These functions can be set on the easy-to-read colour TFT screen. The display shows the battery charge level, the puff counter, the selected operating mode, or the value of the installed coil. The Kroma 217 is equipped with all the existing electronic protections against short circuits or overheating.

This box comes with the Z Force clearomizer which, thanks to its 24mm diameter Pyrex bulb, allows a capacity of up to 5ml. The filling is done quickly and easily from the top by sliding the top cap. Its anti-leak system lets you change the coil even when the tank is full.

An adjustable ring allows you to adapt the airflow from a high vapour production to a soft draw.

The Z Force comes with Innokin's revolutionary new DuoPrime ZF coils for enhanced and longer lasting flavours. It's a 2 mesh coil. The first outer mesh draws the liquid into the coil to heat it up and send it back to the inner mesh to vaporise. They are available in 2 versions : a 0.2ohm coil for a power ranging from 50 to 80W, and a 0.3ohm coil for a power ranging from 30 to 45W.

We' ve asked David, sales representative at Sweetch, to test this Kroma 217 Z Force kit from Innokin. He paired it with Dinner Lady's Lemon Tart eliquid, the absolute bestseller for all dessert fan.

He shared his impressions with us :


What was your first impression when you saw this kit ?

First, aesthetically, it’s a very beautiful kit ! I decided to test this new Innokin device with the Mariana Blue model, which has a blue resin effect that I particularly like and that unfortunately we don't see so much these days. 

In the box of the Kroma 217 kit, you'll find all the necessary equipment : instructions in several languages, a spare Pyrex and coil, the adapter for the 18650 batteries, the recharge cable... great packaging, as always with Innokin. 


How was it getting started ?

Very well ! The device and its features are very intuitive. You've got the classic modes, available on most vapes nowadays. But also two new modes : Coil+ and Refresh which allow, in an automatic or manual way, to extend the coil’s life and to maximise the liquids' flavours.

Navigating through the different modes is particularly easy thanks to the colour screen. And what I find very practical with the brand, is that the screen locks automatically, this way the settings do not change when the kit is in your pocket or in a bag.

How was your experience with this kit ? 

It has a very good autonomy especially with the 21700 battery. I could easily use the kit for more than 24 hours without having to recharge it !

The flavour restitution is simply exceptional thanks to the new Z Force coils. They produce big clouds while delivering the flavours with precision.

Otherwise, the airflow setting is quite versatile, you can set it to do DL or restricted DL.

I also really liked the fact that the fire button is a trigger on the Kroma 217 kit. It's so convenient, and even more so in winter, if you're wearing gloves, you don't have to look for a small button, you can simply hold your vape in your hand and just press the trigger with your palm.

 

Have you encountered any difficulties ? 

None whatsoever. The only downside for me was that with the larger liquids, 100ml and above, filling the tank was a bit more complicated but it was still possible.  


Who would you recommend this kit to ? 

To everyone ! Even if it's more an intermediate to expert device, a motivated beginner who wants a quality vape with which he can evolve, can turn to this kind of kit.
