10 DAYS WITH VOOPOO'S ARGUS PRO 2

INTRODUCTION

Chinese manufacturer Voopoo is back with a new addition to the Argus family : the Argus Pro 2.

This Argus Pro 2 kit has a familiar design and is just as beautifully made as the previous models, but it's also got a powerful 80W maximum power and a built-in 3000mAh battery that promises plenty of autonomy.

Voopoo's Argus Pro 2 comes with a 5ml PNP X DTL cartridge with adjustable airflow, as well as 2 PNP X coils in 0.15 and 0.3Ω, which should satisfy big clouds fans.

Here's a quick overview of the device before we tell you what the Sweetch team thought of Voopoo's Argus Pro 2.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS KIT

With its sophisticated design, zinc casing and leather-look exterior, it's ergonomic, so you'll enjoy carrying it in your hand every day. And thanks to a small rubber pad glued to the underside of the box, you'll be able to stand it upright without worrying about it falling.

Its front panel features a highly functional fire button, 2 settings buttons and a lock switch, complemented by a 0.96" TFT colour screen displaying all the necessary information.

Its built-in 3000mAh battery provides long autonomy and can be recharged via the USB-C cable supplied. Voopoo has included its Gene TT 2.0 chipset in the Argus Pro 2 so you can take full advantage of its 80W maximum power, with all the necessary protection against overheating and short circuits.

There are 3 settings modes to pick from :

  • - Smart mode : Ideal for beginners, it automatically adjusts the power according to the coil installed.
  • - RBA mode : For manual power adjustment between 5 and 80W.
  • - Turbo mode : In 1 second, you get 25% more steam.


Voopoo's Argus Pro 2 kit comes with a 5ml PNP X cartridge and adjustable airflow.

Choose your draw with the 2 coils included in the kit :

  • - PNP X 0.15Ω coil for a DTL draw, to use between 60 and 80W and a PG/VG ratio of 50/50 to 20/80.
  • - PNP X 0.3Ω coil for a RDL draw, to use between 32 and 40W and a PG/VG ratio of 50/50 to 30/70.

    TEST OF THE VOOPOO ARGUS PRO 2 KIT

    We've asked David, a sales assistant in our Lausanne and Geneva shops, to test Voopoo's new Argus Pro 2 kit. He paired it with Baby Bear Mojito e-liquid.
    He shared his thoughts and feedback with us :

    What was your first impression when you saw this kit ? 

    A rather simple kit, with details that immediately caught my eye, such as the airflow on the top, the charging port protection, a lock button, and the possibility of attaching a chain to wear it around the neck. At first glance, it's a well-finished kit with an attractive visual appearance.  

    What was it like at first ? 

    The device's tubular design makes it very comfortable to hold. What's more, its compact size means it can be held entirely in the hand, improving ergonomics. 

    What's your experience with this kit ? 

    After an extended ten-day trial, I found the device's autonomy to be very pleasing. Personally, the battery will last me a day and a half without any problem, even with frequent use requiring daily refilling.

    As far as the format is concerned, I can confirm what was said earlier : the tubular shape and size of the machine offer optimum comfort, making it easy to hold.

    Adding a lock system to the kit is extremely practical. I often take the train and rarely think of turning off my machine with five quick clicks ; it often costs me a coil stupidly. With this system, I don't have to worry about that : just one click and it's locked. What's more, the lock also acts as a safety feature : it prevents the machine from accidentally losing its settings or going up to excessive wattages.

    The idea of placing the airflow on top of the tank rather than underneath is remarkable. This system limits leaks. What's more, the plate that acts as the contact between the tank and the coil is very well designed, with no ridges (except for the connectors), making it easy to clean the e-cig from humidity if necessary.

    The screen and buttons are very practical for maximum vape customisation. There are currently two types of coils available for this model : 0.3 ohm and 0.15 ohm. I really liked the 0.3 ohm for its versatility, and the 0.15 ohm for its big vapour production.

    Have you encountered any difficulties ?

    I've had no problems whatsoever. To avoid any problems with leaks or a burnt taste from the coil, I recommend soaking the cotton of your coil well beforehand and start using it at a low wattage, then gradually increase it.

    Who would you recommend this kit to ? 

    I think this kit is suitable for everyone, from beginners to expert vapers. It offers great versatility as well as interesting technical features. Setting up and using the kit isn't complicated.
