10 days with the Kubi Pod Kit of Hotcig

Introduction

Hotcig, or more precisely Shenzhen Hot Technologcy Co, Ltd, is a Chinese company founded in 2013. It specialises in the design, the production and the selling of high quality electronic cigarettes. Its core strength is to create high-end equipment, from the mechanical box to the pod, along with constructible atomizers.

Let’s present the pod

The Kubi is a miniature pod (16x87mm) with a very futuristic look. For those of you that are always looking for their stuff, it can be hung around your neck – no doubt the best way to always have it with you.

To use the Kubi of Hotcig is disquietingly simple. It just needs to be filled and connected to the magnetic cartridge in order to start vaping. No switch, no adjustments. Nothing else to do but savour it fully!

With its ceramic 1.9Ohm resistances, it is ideally combined with nicotine-salt e-liquids.

It comes with a 550mAh battery, which can seem low in terms of power, but is of great autonomy. Its capacity is of 1.7ml.

So ?

We were curious to find out what the Kubi could deliver and asked Fabian, one of our long-term vapers and actually creator of the Vapure-liquids, to test it. He combined it with the Chocobacco flavour of Vapur, which contains nicotine-salts. It has a light tobacco flavour with unctuous cacao and a touch of nougat. Fabian shares his impressions with us:

What was your first impression when discovering the kit?

I found the design rather cool and the kit very compact. The design is very futuristic.

What were your first impressions?

It is super easy to use, as there are no adjustments to make. You just fill the cartridge, put it in place, and start to vape. It is entirely automatic, without even a button to press.

I was surprise with the filling, though. My 10ml bottle did not fit in the small hole without a little fiddling. You have to hold the dropper of the bottle when pulling it out in order to avoid spills. I guess the easiest is to use a needle bottle for filling the cartridge.

Once filled, all is very simple. In addition, as the cartridge is magnetic, you just need to clip it and it does not budge. No clip you could risk breaking, and no button that could get stuck.

How would you summarize your experince with this pod ?

The quantity of vapour generated is very good given the pod’s small size, and is sufficient for nicotine-salt e-liquids. I was a bit disappointed by the flavour rendering, but I have to admit that I am more used to atomizers than to pods.

Its autonomy impressed me. I did not charge it initially and used it for more than a week as secondary device without having to recharge it. During this time, I only consumed 2/3 of the cartridge’s capacity, which is pretty incredible given the quantity of vapour produced.

I really liked the necklace that is provided, as it is very practical and enjoyable to wear. I forgot my box somewhere? No problem, I have my pod around my neck! In addition, it charges through USB and a Led indicates the level of battery charge.

It is very easy to start with, holds in hand with a very surprising silky texture.

It is very nice to take a really amazing texture with a velvety touch, almost silky. Important detail: the cartridge can be recharged in this new version.

Did you face any difficulties ?

None apart from the filling.

To whom would you recommend this pod ?

Clearly to beginners, ideally combined with a nicotine-salt e-liquid, and rather with a tobacco flavour.

Conclusion

The Kubi is a small pod but performs remarkably. Its autonomy is excellent, as is the quantity of vapour generated, and it consumes very little e-liquid. This pod will provide great satisfaction to beginners, or to vapers looking for a miniature pod that they can carry around as secondary device.
