INTRODUCTION

For over a decade, Innokin has established itself as one of the undisputed leaders in the world of vaping. Known for its reliable, innovative and intuitive products, the brand has won the trust of thousands of vapers around the world. Among its most emblematic ranges, the Coolfire series occupies a place of choice. From the Coolfire IV to the Coolfire Z50, each model has evolved with the times while retaining the qualities that have made them such a success: robustness, ergonomics and ease of use.

Today, Innokin unveils its latest model: the Coolfire Z80 NEX. A kit that combines modernity and reliability, designed to offer an intuitive, enjoyable and versatile vaping experience.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS KIT

The Coolfire Z80 Nex consists of a compact box mod powered by an 18650 battery (not included), and the brand-new Zenith Nex clearomizer, capable of holding 5 ml of e-liquid. It's a kit designed for everyday use, with a focus on quality and ease of use.

The box offers a maximum power output of 80 watts, but is deliberately uncluttered: a single vape mode (variable wattage), a clear screen and no complex menus. Adjustments are made via two side buttons, and a mechanical switch is used to quickly lock all the controls.

Ergonomics have also been carefully thought out, with a leather-like covering that is lightly padded depending on the version chosen, a comfortable grip and a USB-C port for additional charging. The battery compartment can be opened using a simple, secure screw-on cover with a fold-down tab.

The Zenith Nex clearomizer, an evolution of the famous Zeniths, offers a number of clever new features: clean top-filling, adjustable airflow via an innovative rotating ring, and a top-airflow design to eliminate any risk of leakage. It is compatible with Z-Coil resistors, renowned for their durability and flavour reproduction.

TEST OF THE INNOKIN COOLFIRE Z80 KIT

To get a concrete opinion, we asked Steve, our expert and manager of the Sweetch shop in Nyon, to test the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit for 10 days. He combined it with the Apricot e-liquid from the Wonderful Tart range from French manufacturer Le French Liquide. Here are his impressions:

What was your first impression of this kit?

Very good. The assembly is neat, the finish is clean and the box feels good in the hand. It feels like a serious piece of equipment, without being intimidating.

How did you get to grips with it?

Very easy. The box is easy to set up, with no unnecessary menus, just the watts to adjust. The locking switch is a real plus: practical and reassuring. The clearomiser fills without leaking, and the airflow ring is well thought out, even if it does require a bit of practice at first.

What's your experience with this kit?

Very good. I tested both resistors. With the 0.8 ohm, I had a tight draw, ideal for MTL. With the 0.3 ohm, I had a good RDL, with a more airy, dense vape. The flavour rendition is really good.

Did you encounter any difficulties?

Not really, but I was a bit surprised at first by the way the airflow ring on the Zenith Nex worked. It actually has two main positions, which aren't just classic aperture settings, but combine airflow control and access to the fill.

Turning the ring all the way to the left reveals a silicone membrane that hides the fill hole. This is the "fill" position: at this point, the air flow is completely closed to prevent leaks during filling.

When the ring is turned all the way to the right, the membrane is hidden under the ring, and the air channels gradually open. The further to the right you turn the ring, the airier the airflow becomes. In the middle position, the shot is tighter, perfect for the MTL.

Who would you recommend this kit to?

For intermediate to advanced vapers, or those who want to switch from a pod to something more powerful without complicating their lives. It's easy to use, but scalable enough not to feel limited after a few weeks.
