10 DAYS WITH THE DOTPOD MAX LITE KIT BY DOTMOD

LET’S TALK ABOUT THIS KIT

From the moment you pick it up, the DotPod Max Lite inspires confidence. It remains compact (94.5 mm high and just 22.5 mm thick), making it easy to carry in a pocket or bag.

Unlike Dotmod’s previous designs, which mainly used anodised aluminium, this new version is made from a particularly durable transparent polycarbonate. This choice gives it a completely different visual identity – one that is more modern and dynamic – without compromising on the high-quality craftsmanship for which the brand is renowned.

The eight built-in RGB lighting effects reinforce this identity. They are activated every time the device is used and can be customised to suit individual preferences. Users who prefer a more understated look can, of course, switch the LEDs off completely.

Hidden beneath this sophisticated design is a built-in 2100 mAh battery. For standard use between 20 and 30 watts, this capacity generally allows you to vape for a whole day without needing to recharge. When recharging is necessary, the USB-C port, which supports 2A fast charging, allows you to quickly regain several hours’ worth of battery life. One small detail to note: the USB-C cable is not included in the box.

The DotPod Max Lite can deliver power ranging from 5 to 60 watts. The smart chipset automatically detects the pod being used to provide the appropriate power output. Vapers wishing to customise their vaping experience can, of course, adjust this setting manually.

All the information is displayed on a 0.87-inch colour screen that is particularly easy to read. There are even three theme options to personalise the display.

The DotPod Max Lite works just as well with automatic activation on inhalation as it does with its main button. The adjustable airflow makes it easy to change the draw:

• indirect inhalation (MTL), similar to a conventional cigarette;

• restrictive draw (RDL), ideal for savouring the flavours;

• direct inhalation (DL) or aerial inhalation, depending on the cartridge fitted.

The 5 ml reservoir severely limits the number of refills. Refilling is carried out directly from the top via a sliding flap that is particularly easy to use.

The DotPod Max Lite is compatible with all DotPod Max cartridges as well as DotCoil coils (via the dedicated cartridge), allowing you to customise your kit to suit your preferences.

TEST THE DOTPOD MAX LITE KIT

As with any major new development, we wanted to gather genuine feedback from the field. Whilst Paco was on holiday, Thomas returned to Sweetch to cover at the Lausanne shop. Formerly in charge of the shops in Nyon and then Geneva Gare, this familiar face to many customers volunteered to test the DotPod Max Lite for ten days. 

He used the DotPod Max Lite with the Black Ice Tea Peach e-liquid from Freeze Tea, a French e-liquid combining iced tea, juicy peach and just the right amount of freshness. 


What was your first impression of this kit?

I liked its design straight away. It features the build quality you’d expect from Dotmod, but with a completely different look. The LEDs give it a truly modern feel without being over the top. The whole thing looks sturdy despite its transparent appearance.

How did it feel to use it for the first time?

It’s very easy. The screen is clear, the menus are straightforward and navigation is intuitive. Everything is set up in a matter of minutes. Even a complete beginner could quickly get to grips with how it works.

What’s your experience with this kit?

Very good. I mainly vaped at around 24 watts with the 0.6-ohm coil. The battery life is excellent, and the 5 ml capacity means you can vape for a long time before needing to refill the tank.

The Peach Black Ice Tea tastes absolutely brilliant with this cartridge. The flavours are distinct, the peach tastes natural, and the freshness comes through perfectly without overpowering the taste of the tea.

Did you encounter any difficulties? 

No particular issues. The only slight disappointment is that the USB-C cable isn’t included in the box. Fortunately, most users already have this type of cable.

Who would you recommend this pod to?  

I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for a versatile pod system. It’s simple enough for a beginner but offers enough options to satisfy a more experienced vaper. Its battery life is reassuring and the flavours really do deliver.
