10 DAYS WITH THE OXVA XLIM PRO 2 DNA

LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS KIT

The OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Kit is a true technological feat in the world of pods. At first glance, it has the same sleekness and elegance as the XLIM range: a compact size (114.5 × 25 × 15 mm), a featherweight 67 g, and impeccable carbon finishes that immediately catch the eye. But behind this refined appearance lies a wealth of innovations that radically change the vaping experience.

At the heart of the device is, of course, the Evolv DNA chipset. This high-end processor, already a cult favourite in the world of mods, is now available in a pod format. The result :

• Formidable precision : the chip measures the resistance and temperature of the coil thousands of times per second to ensure a stable and consistent vape.

• Formidably effective anti-dry hit : the chipset detects when the coil is no longer properly supplied with liquid and instantly cuts off the heating. No more burnt draws that ruin your throat and coils.

• Replay mode : by pressing the dedicated button (recognisable by its heart-shaped icon), vapers can record their ‘perfect puff’ and reproduce it at will, without any variation in flavour or vapour density.

The kit comes with a built-in 1300 mAh battery, powerful enough to last a full day, even in RDL mode. Fast 5V/2A charging allows you to recharge 80% of the battery in just 25 minutes, and pass-through mode allows you to vape while charging.

When it comes to pods, OXVA introduces a real innovation: Xlim Top Fill SS cartridges (2ml). Not only can they be filled from the top without removing the cartridge, but they also feature stainless steel coils compatible with the DNA chipset's temperature control. These coils unlock the kit's full potential (anti-burn and Replay). Two versions are included :

• 0.6 Ω (RDL): ideal for e-liquids with a balanced PG/VG ratio (50/50 to 40/60) and nicotine levels up to 12 mg/ml.

• 0.8 Ω (airy MTL): perfect for a tight draw, more fluid e-liquids (60/40 to 50/50) and higher nicotine levels (up to 20 mg/ml).

To evaluate this pod in real-world conditions, we gave one to Paco, manager of the Sweetch shop in Lausanne and an experienced vaper for over 10 years. For 10 days, he used the XLIM Pro 2 DNA with Café Expresso e-liquid from VDLV's Cirkus range. Here is his feedback : 


What was your first impression of this pod ?

As a former smoker who quit a decade ago, I have tested countless pods and mods. What struck me about the XLIM Pro 2 DNA was first and foremost how it felt in my hand: light yet sturdy, and above all, with a finish worthy of a premium device. The luminous carbon fibre is an aesthetic touch that makes all the difference, but beyond the look, what's impressive is the crystal-clear colour screen and the responsiveness of the chipset. You can immediately tell that this is next-generation equipment.

How was getting started ?

The device is designed to be accessible. You can use it immediately by letting the automatic detection do its job, or go further by customising the settings. As someone who likes to adjust my watts down to the last millimetre, I loved the fluidity of the menu and the precision of the adjustments. And then there's the Replay button... honestly, it's a real bonus. The first time I found my ideal draw, I pressed it and since then, every puff has been a perfect copy. It's amazing. 

What's your experience of this pod ?

The flavours are incredibly pure. I tested Cirkus' Café Expresso, a juice I know by heart, and it was like discovering it all over again. The flavour is consistent from the first to the last puff. Even when the cartridge is almost empty, there is no loss of flavour and no dry hits. This is a first for a compact pod. The airflow is very well designed: by closing it a little, I get a real tight MTL, similar to a cigarette, and by opening it more, I switch to a dense and flavourful RDL. The versatility is impressive.

Have you encountered any difficulties ? 

For an experienced vaper like me, none. The only limitation is that you have to use SS cartridges to get the most out of the kit. Other XLIM pods work, but without Replay or anti-burn. As for the Escribe software, it may scare beginners, but for someone who likes to customise their gear, it's a gold mine.

Who would you recommend this pod to ?  

Two distinct profiles. Firstly, beginners who want to avoid the hassle of burnt coils: this kit is protective and intuitive. But above all, experienced vapers who, like me, want a precise, scalable and consistent vape. It's a premium pod, but accessible, and could replace a more cumbersome everyday setup.
