Vaporesso Armour Octa Mod: 220 W to create your own setup

The Vaporesso Armour Octa mod combines a maximum power output of 220 W, power supplied by two 18650 batteries, and a reinforced build. Sold without a clearomiser, it gives you the freedom to choose the tank that best suits your setup, particularly for sub-ohm RDL or DTL vaping.

Vaporesso has equipped it with the AXON 3.0 chipset, four operating modes and a 0.96" colour TFT screen. In addition to this electronics, the design is engineered to better withstand dust, water and everyday knocks.

A dual 18650 battery mod for sub-ohm vaping

The Armour Octa runs on two 18650 batteries and can deliver up to 220 W. This wide power range means it can be used with a wide variety of sub-ohm clearomisers or rebuildable atomisers.

The mod measures 92 x 55 x 30.8 mm. To ensure the atomiser sits flush with the base of the mod, Vaporesso recommends using an atomiser with a diameter of no more than 24.5 mm.

The two 18650 batteries required for operation are sold separately.

IP6X, IP8X and IPX9K: a ruggedised design

One of the Armour Octa’s key strengths lies in the protective features built into its construction. The mod boasts several levels of protection as specified by the manufacturer:

• IP6X: protection against dust and fine particles
• IP8X: resistance to immersion up to 1 metre for over 30 minutes, according to the manufacturer’s tests
• IPX9K: resistance to high-pressure water jets
• Drop resistance tested from heights of up to 1.2 metres across 26 angles

TPU zones complement this construction to provide further impact absorption. The USB-C port features a silicone cover, whilst a non-slip surface helps ensure a secure grip.

AXON 3.0 chipset: four vaping modes

The AXON 3.0 chipset allows you to customise the Armour Octa’s operation with four distinct modes.

• Pulse: delivers power in rapid pulses
• Eco: prioritises more economical use of available energy
• Boost: increases power at start-up to speed up heating
• TC: enables temperature control with compatible stainless steel (SS), nickel (Ni) or titanium (Ti) coils

The 0.96" colour TFT screen displays all the key vaping information. A dedicated switch also allows you to quickly lock the mod before putting it away.

Battery Guard and electronic safeguards

Vaporesso has incorporated its Battery Guard system to monitor, in particular, the voltage difference between the two batteries. If this difference becomes too great, the mod may cease operation.

Overtime Protection 2.0, meanwhile, kicks in during abnormally long or repeated activations.

The batteries can be charged directly in the mod via USB-C at up to 5 V / 2.5 A. The system also features overheating protection.

Which atomiser should you use with the Armour Octa?

Sold on its own, the Armour Octa mod allows you to customise your e-cigarette to suit your vaping style. Its power output makes it particularly well-suited to sub-ohm clearomisers and rebuildable atomisers designed for RDL or DTL vaping.

A maximum base diameter of 24.5 mm ensures a flush fit with the mod. The Vaporesso iTank T Dual Mesh is one of the possible combinations, but you are free to choose any tank.
