OXVA VPrime Dual Mesh cartridges: two mesh elements in a 6 ml tank

OXVA’s VPrime Dual Mesh cartridges have been developed to make the most of the VPrime 2’s Eco and Boost modes. Their unique feature lies in the integration of two independent mesh strips within a single cartridge.

This system allows you to adjust the vaping experience without replacing the pod. In Eco mode, the VPrime 2 uses a single mesh coil. In Boost mode, both heating elements work together to increase power and vapour production.

The cartridges are sold in packs of two and are available in two versions: 0.4 ohm and 0.6 ohm.

Which VPrime Dual Mesh cartridge should you choose: 0.4 or 0.6 ohm?

The choice depends mainly on the type of draw and the power output you’re looking for. The 0.6 ohm offers the most versatile range of use, whilst the 0.4 ohm favours a lighter vapour and greater vapour production.

VPrime Dual Mesh 0.6 ohm

In Eco mode, the 0.6 ohm version operates with a single mesh coil within a range of approximately 20 to 35 W. It then offers a relatively moderate RDL draw.

Switching to Boost mode activates both mesh coils. The coil resistance is then equivalent to approximately 0.3 ohms, with a power output between 35 and 50 W and a significantly airier draw.

VPrime Dual Mesh 0.4 ohm

The 0.4 ohm coil is better suited to vapers who prefer an open draw. In Eco mode, it operates at around 30 to 40 W and already maintains a very open RDL profile in DTL mode.

With both Mesh coils activated in Boost mode, its resistance is equivalent to approximately 0.2 ohms, allowing for power output of up to 60 W.

How do Eco and Boost modes work?

With the VPrime 2, the selected mode directly determines the number of Mesh elements used by the cartridge.

• Eco mode: activates a single mesh to limit power output as well as e-liquid and battery consumption
• Boost mode: activates both meshes simultaneously to increase the heating surface area, power output and vapour volume

This allows you to switch between the two modes whilst keeping exactly the same cartridge in your pod.

6 ml capacity with side-fill without removing the cartridge

Each VPrime Dual Mesh cartridge has a 6 ml tank. This capacity supports the high power levels at which the system can operate, particularly when used in Boost mode.

Refilling is carried out via a side port that remains accessible when the cartridge is fitted to the VPrime 2. Simply open the flap, add your e-liquid, then close the opening properly.

When fitting a new cartridge, fill the tank and then wait approximately 10 minutes before using it for the first time. This step allows the cotton to absorb the e-liquid properly before heating.

Are the VPrime Dual Mesh cartridges compatible with the first-generation VPrime?

Yes, VPrime Dual Mesh cartridges are physically compatible with the first-generation VPrime. However, their performance differs from that achieved with the VPrime 2.

As the first-generation VPrime does not allow the two mesh coils to be controlled separately, both heating elements are activated simultaneously. The 0.4 ohm cartridge therefore behaves similarly to a 0.2 ohm cartridge, whilst the 0.6 ohm cartridge behaves approximately like a 0.3 ohm cartridge.

The VPrime 2 therefore remains the model that allows you to take full advantage of switching between Eco and Boost modes.

When should you replace your VPrime Dual Mesh cartridge?

The coils are integrated directly into the tank and cannot be replaced separately. When their performance declines, the entire cartridge must be replaced.

A reduction in flavour or vapour production, slower heating, or the appearance of an off-flavour or burnt taste may indicate that a replacement is needed.
