The electronic cigarette (which can also be called e-cigarette, personal vaporiser or simply e-cig) reproduces the feel of a traditional cigarette (smoke and gesture) without producing over 4'000 substances ranging from harmful to deadly.
Although the electronic cigarette is not considered officially a smoking cessation drug, 7 million Europeans have already demonstrated its effectiveness in the field.
Whatever the model, an electronic cigarette consists of a battery, a reservoir (clearomiser, cartridge, tank) with a tip that is placed in the mouth (drip tip) and a resistance activated by a button (switch). When the switch is activated, the resistance heats a liquid (e-liquid) based on propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin and flavors producing vapour that the user inhales.
All the ingredients composing e-liquids are already used safely in humans in everyday life (food industry, cosmetics, nightclubs fumes, aerosols against asthma).
The e-liquid has the distinction of being transformed into steam at a temperature of around 50-60 ° C. There is no combustion or production of tar and carbon monoxide.
The smoker now called "vaper" keeps the pleasure of smoking without the hassle and without disturbing those nearby. Users are then relieved from bad smell, bad breath, respiratory problems and most people rediscover flavours, taste and smell as well as feel in a much better physical condition.
