Geekvape Aegis Solo 5 mod: 100 W and 21700 compatibility

The Aegis Solo 5 mod takes Geekvape’s single-battery design to the next level by now allowing the use of a 21700 battery. It also remains compatible with the 18650 format thanks to the included adapter. This dual compatibility allows you to choose your power source whilst enjoying adjustable power output ranging from 5 to 100 W.

Sold without a clearomiser, the Aegis Solo 5 is aimed at vapers who wish to select the atomiser to pair with their mod themselves. Its 510 connection offers extensive compatibility with clearomisers and atomisers available on the market.

Choice of 21700 or 18650 battery

The Aegis Solo 5 operates with a single battery, which is not supplied. Geekvape now favours the 21700 format whilst retaining the option to fit an 18650 using the adapter supplied with the mod.

A USB-C port allows direct charging at 5 V / 2 A. However, the USB-C cable is not included. As the battery is removable, it can also be taken out of the mod to be recharged using a suitable external charger.

AS Chip 4.0: two modes for adjusting the vape

Geekvape has equipped this generation with its AS Chip 4.0 chipset and has centred its interface around two operating modes:

• Smart: detects the installed coil and automatically suggests a suitable power setting
• Power: allows manual adjustment of the power output according to the user’s preferences

This configuration allows you to either let the mod handle the settings or retain direct control over the wattage.

1.08" display and A-Lock switch

The 1.08-inch display shows, amongst other things, the selected power output, the coil resistance and the battery charge level. On the side of the mod, the A-Lock switch allows you to quickly lock the mod before transporting it.

A second locking method is available: by holding down both adjustment buttons for two seconds, they can be locked whilst leaving the Fire button operational.

An IP68-certified Geekvape mod

The Aegis Solo 5 retains the rugged design associated with the Aegis range. Its IP68 certification ensures protection against water and dust, whilst its construction is also designed to better withstand everyday knocks and bumps.

Despite being compatible with a 21700 battery, its dimensions remain compact at 94.7 × 42.55 × 31 mm. The reinforced areas and the box’s finish also contribute to its comfortable grip.

Which clearomiser should you use with the Aegis Solo 5?

Thanks to its 510 connection and 100 W power output, the Solo 5 can accommodate various atomisers for RDL or DTL vaping. To ensure the build aligns with the box’s contours, a base diameter of approximately 25 mm or less is recommended.

The Z Subohm Tank 5 from Geekvape is specifically designed for DTL vaping and uses Z Series coils. The Aegis Solo 5 is also available as a kit with this clearomiser for those who prefer a complete setup.
